5 Handstand Push-ups
Mary is full of movements that are not only technically difficult, but require an enormous amount of strength as well. Pistols are by most gymnastics standards an introductory move, but for us the single leg modality stuff doesn’t come up that often and can be difficult when strength, balance and coordination haven’t been practiced enough to recruit the right movement patterns.
One thing you may consider if you’re struggling with pistols (aren’t we all?) is working on them a bit on your free time. If you’ve got a couch, or a stool, you’ve got a tool to practice pistols on. First, you’d be well advised to read a bit more about them, then practice on your own.
