Workout of the Day
Then, after 5 minutes rest…
2 Rounds for time:
200m OH Waiter Carry, left arm (53/35 lb.)
200m OH Waiter Carry, right arm (53/35 lb.)
Boy, that 200m sure gets a lot longer with weight overhead, doesn’t it? There are many good reasons to implement the waiter carry into one’s fitness program, maybe best of all is that of trunk strength. You may think your shoulder is doing all the work here, nah, the core (think abs, erectors, glutes even) are working really hard to keep that weight overhead while your body is in its forward trajectory. If that weight overhead begins to wabble, to shift, you’re going to have to tighten the mid section down to mitigate that problem.
What do we do for abs at CrossFit? Stabilize the midline.
Movie night TONIGHT at CFCM, 8pm sharp. We’re watching Heavyweights and sharing some potluck goodies. Be here!
