Tanya Wagner, 2009 CrossFit Games Champion packing a 35# sand bag up a criminally steep hill during the Games this year. While the weight of that bag might have been heavy then, it’s nothing like the weight of the target that sits on her back heading into this years Games.
3 Rounds – For Time
21x Power Clean (155# M/110# W)
You hear us say it all the time. CrossFit is a sport and when we tell you to put a target on someones time and blow them out of the water we freakin’ mean it, ok? Today, our very own Chad Walker strolled through the door, eyeballed a to-be-unnamed Volcom Executive’s time on the WOD and said “I gotta beat that.” Sure enough, 16 minutes later, lying in a pool of his own sweat with a smile on his face Chad had bested the fastest time on the white board by just under 3 minutes. Now that is how you become truly, remarkably fit. Your mental game has to be strong and you have to be willing to push harder and faster than your competition.
“Our workouts are competitive events. The strength and value of CrossFit lies entirely within our domination of other athletes. This is a truth derived through competition, not debate.”
As for Tanya, you can be sure that she’s doing everything in her power to stay ahead of the pack. We hope that you’re doing the same yourself.
