Workout of the Day
AMRAP in 17:
10 KB Swing (AHAP)
20 DB Thrusters (35/25lb)
You might have noticed a large forearm component to today’s workout. This is an important element to fitness and one that is often overlooked in many programs. Here are a few hints for you for the next grip wrecker:
1. On the kettlebell swing, loosen the grip up when we swing passes your face. You don’t need to death grip that thing at the top, just keep a decent loop around the bell, only enough to keep it in line with your arms and let those forearms cool off a bit.
2. On the toes-to-bar, don’t grip at your fingertips. The closer the bar gets to the end of your fingers the less leverage you have, so wrap that thing up. Be careful though, as this could potentially cause substantial rips in your palms, no good. So keep the hands dry (light dusting of chalk) and keep the caluses shaved.
