There’s a brief moment in time (think split second) in a jerk where it’s time to turn the upward momentum down. This critical point — consisting of muscular reactions, neurological synapsis and a fight or flight split decision — has as much to do with the success of the movement as the rest of it’s important elements. Execute this turnaround slowly, miss the lift. Snap the hips close like a rubber band while raising the arms in confidence and you’re much more likely to lock that load overhead. Think fast. Move fast.
