15-21-9-3 Reps kinda seems like a silly order doesn’t it? Well, what makes sense about 21-15-9? Or 10-9-8-7…1 for that matter? Constantly varied programming means that not only are we changing up the movements, the weights and the time domains, but it also means that the rep/set scheme isn’t always going to ‘conform’ to something we are familiar with either. Last time I went to the grocery store I carried home 2 bags of groceries, yesterday I went and carried home only one. I’m headed to TJ’s this afternoon and looking at my list, I’m sure I’ll have 3. Life doesn’t come at us in clearly defined and repeatable patterns, we have to be ready to tackle any number of things confronting us, which is why we train the way we do.
