The 2010 SoCal Sectionals are in the books and man did we have a great time. Alec, Hoby and Rob put on a great show throughout the weekend, grinding their way through what proved to be 3 very difficult workouts. At the end of the competition it was Rob who came out on top amongst our competing athletes with a finish of 55th place amongst 177 of SoCal’s fittest men.
For those of you interested, the Southwest Regionals will be taking place in Irvine May 8-9th. It should be a really great show and we should all plan on attending.
Alec put the hurt on his competition in WOD 3 on the rower, pulling approximately 73 calories in just 3 minutes. He also finished 15th overall on the 800m run, which was the last piece of the final workout.
Rob put on a bit of a show in the l-sit test. An accumulated total of 74 seconds in the l-sit position was good enough for 28th in this particular test.
The top 2 men battled all the way down to the wire. Ben (left, 2nd overall) and Storm (right, 1st overall) were so tight throughout the weekend they knew the win may come down this very run. The judges scored their finish on the 800 a tie, both rounding the 400m track twice in just 2:48.
Ingrid Friggin’ Kantola, OMG. This former collegiate pole vaulter turned CrossFitter was absolutely in a class of her own this weekend. She won every workout by a handy margin. Look for her to put on a great show at regionals.
