Workout of the Day
Then, after 5 minutes rest…
5 Rounds for reps:
Today, we take on an unfamiliar interval: a one to two work/rest ratio. This should provide the athlete with a short enough runway to sprint, and a long enough rest to recover — even if just so slightly — for the next round. Each big movement should have been explosive enough to ramp the heart rate up in a short period of time. This type of work can be done anywhere you’ve got a timer and some knowledge. Take this interval with you on vacation, use it for beach sprints, burpees, or squatting a stone. Just remember to pick a combination of movements that you can move quickly on, and know that when the pace really begins to break down it’s either time to put in a rest period of 2-3 minutes, or call it a day all together.
