Harmoni has been very strict on the diet and exercise lately and it is paying off in both the need for new clothes and increased work capacity.
Workout of the Day
5 Attempts for max load, not timed:
1 Power Clean
1 Front Squat
1 Push Press
1 Back Squat
1 Push Press
This is a very grip intensive workout and you wouldn’t know it until you’ve made it in to the first few rounds of a heavy set. Training the grip is very functional, we do most everything with our hands and if they don’t function correctly, and don’t have some level of strength endurance then you are pretty useless. Train the grip my friends and it will pay off typically with a bigger deadlift, more pull-ups, etc.
The bear can also have a bit of a cardiovascular element if you kept the rest short. We will probably do this workout again some time with a prescribed weight and within some time domain which will change the workout entirely. Think about how much different it would be if we only allowed for one minute rest between attempts.
Eat – Paleo Meatlog (bacon!), Jen’s Gone Paleo
The CrossFit Games website went down the minute the first workout was supposed to be announced today; I feel for those guys. It can be incredibly difficult to estimate how many people are going to hit your site and if you guess wrong you will overpay for your hosting at a magnitude not sustainable for most businesses. So if you’re waiting for the info, take some time and relax. Pull out the foam roller and mobilize that tight back of yours, or go eat some meat. The site will be up in plenty of time for us to throw down.
See you in the gym,
Doggies can get rips, too. One too many pull-ups for Xena today and she’s not WOD’n for a while.
