Hey guys, I know it has been a while since my last blog post. Believe me when I say that not writing these makes me feel very off (not just you, Elliot!). I think I just got busy and had a lot on my mind. I wish I could come back to you with a super up-beat, peppy post, because let’s face it… that is how I am most days. However, today was rough for me. The combination of not enough sleep the past few nights and the glorious joys of being a woman did not go so well for me this morning. This is always amplified because everyone notices when I’m “off” and then on top of feeling bad, I feel bad for feeling bad. Also, my favorite flip flops (pictured) broke… boo! All I’m sayin’ is, tomorrow will be better!
My workout actually went pretty well, except that I started doing three reps instead of two on my snatch. I hit my 90%, and it didn’t feel too terribly hard, so that’s good news. For my gymnastics work today, I did chest to bar pull-ups instead of the usual kipping. I have to do C2B in my comp this weekend, so I wanted to practice. They were definitely much harder and I was pretty out of breath, but made it through all 20 rounds… that’s 80 reps, not counting the push-ups. NTS… right Bobbie? 😉
My second workout today was 30 30/30’s… just to be clear, that is 30 30 second sprints on the erg. I was dreading it all day, as usual. My stomach seriously starts to turn when it gets close to “the time”. J and I did them together outside, which definitely helped. I could not be any happier with how these went, especially considering my mood today. I made it through the first 15 no problem… was even a little faster than my goal split. From there I just focused on getting through the next 5, and then the next, and before I knew it, I was done! I am proud of myself. I really had to fight the crappy feelings before going into this one. I’m just thankful that my body pulled through for me.
