CrossFit is… Fun.
Workout of the Day
Cash out: 30/30 v-ups w/v-hold for ‘rest’
Someone mentioned to me today that they feel like we do an aweful lot of pressing — just the strict kind, implying we avoid push press, jerk, etc. While I think this is a fairly accurate statement it could possibly be biased towards this individuals schedule at the gym (maybe they just happen to come in the last 2 times we’ve done press). Anyway, those little muscles in your shoulders are tough to make strong. You’ve really got to work on it consistently to ensure that they are improving. The beauty of the press day is that if the rest of the body is fairly blown out this can be a rest day of sorts, especially from the waist down.
Also note that the strict press isn’t a shoulder exercise only, your back and core are heavily involved. If your midline isn’t taxed by this movement you’re not doing it right. Below that, your legs should be working to stabilize the body as that load travels upward. So while you can kinda consider this recovery for your lower body, those limbs are still involved.

We’re about to lose another good one, guys. Austin Kairis who has been with us for almost a year now is moving. Please be sure you give him a big, sweaty hug next time you see him as he’s departing this coming Friday. We’ll miss you, Austin.
Did you know that we have a shower room at CFCM? Yup, and it’s yours to use as long as someone hasn’t beaten you to it. Please keep the room tidy and we’ll do our best to keep it fresh as well.
