4x 30/30 DB Push Press (“Rest” in the OH position)
OOOOeeeee the quads and shoulders are burning at the end of this session. The goal here is to steadily increase the load each round, but not necessarily peaking at a true 1RM at the end. Too many reps involved before that last set to get a true PR. Today should have been about form and speed, taping into that anaerobic and glycolitic power system, there’s a good chance of elevated aerobic state, too — especially with those 30/30s added in at the end for dessert.
If you are struggling with the clean, failing to grasp the nuances of this complex lift, fear not. It’s an Olympic sport after all, but what one can hope to do is improve each time. Getting better at this lift is simple: pay attention during the warm up, watch the pros, and last but not least ask one of our coaches for a private session.
