Muscle-ups today, that is! It’s true. I have been struggling to get another muscle-up since my first 2 a couple weeks ago. I was feeling close though, so tonight I practiced a little bit, and got 6! They were terribly ugly, yet beautiful at the same time. I’m so pleased. My freestanding handstands are getting better each day too. Today I made 3 steps. I’m nowhere near Tara or Jenni status, but I’m coming for you girls!
As I was driving home from the gym tonight, I was thinking about my improvements in the gym lately. I know things go in spurts. There are times when I feel like I am stuck… not really improving, just putting time in, and there are times (like recently) when I seem to be improving in several areas and am just feeling good in general. Of course I work hard, and that is obviously a big part of progress, but I think the biggest thing that has helped me lately is that I recognize how lucky I am that I get to do this. I feel so grateful. Each time I start to get negative about something or the workout gets really painful, I say to myself (thanks to Keeta), “I GET to do this!” Also, I am just having a lot of fun, because it’s way funner 🙂

7am: Coffee (no almond butter today… I was too lazy to stir a new jar… true store!).
8:30am: “Paleo” chocolate chip cookie (thanks to Chanson!). We all know a cookie is a cookie, but I was hungry and well, that’s all I got.
1pm: Mix 1 protein drink. Rotisserie chicken (Columbus deli meat) w/ 1/2 (massive) avocado (thanks to Dakota!). 3 carrots. Handful almonds.
2pm: Coffee w/ cream. 1/2 “paleo” cookie… I know!!
7:30pm: Rooster Cafe–Chicken avocado cups… these things are darn good (basically one avo cut in half and stuffed with chicken, tomato, onion, cumin and some other spices w/ a little feta cheese on top. Mmmm!). A few tortilla chips.
9pm: 3 bites of pepperoni pizza.
9:30pm: (still hungry) almond butter (I stirred it… my third WOD today), peppermint tea.
